I love my brother so much and I miss him everyday. Today is his 35th birthday and I’m going to spend the day remembering how amazing he is to me. The best big brother in the world, without a doubt. He showed me by example what it means to be a person with heart and passion and love for family and friends. I miss hearing him play the piano. I miss his cooking. I miss his scent in his room. I miss his laugh and his big, cheeky smile.
It’s hard for me to imagine my life without him because we spent so much time making plans for our future. When he knew he was passing, we had our talk. I had him help me pick out the names of my children. I received his blessing on the man I plan to marry. I reassured him that I would take care of mom and dad. And I promised to celebrate his life always.
If you’ve ever had someone in your life as special as my brother was to me, count yourself lucky. Recognize that God blesses us with angels that enrich our lives in the most amazing ways.
