Hello, friends! It’s been a minute since my last post because I’ve been a lean mean photo-processing machine of late, but I’m gearing up to share another round of family sessions soon. Until then, here’s one I’ve fallen in love with of two silly kids at heart.

Corinne, Gil, Matthew + Oliver / More color!

Meet fellow scrapbooker extraordinaire, Corinne. I totally connected with her wish to capture family moments she can share as gallery prints on her wall as well as in her scrapbook pages. Her Mattie was a whirwind and I know Oliver will follow soon behind. And I’m glad to be able to capture these special moments for their mama to share in scrapbooks that will last a lifetime.

Love these blocks! Totally awesome newborn presents!Fashionable mama.Jealous of her craft space. Jealous.Yeah, these chairs had me going nuts. So did her kids.

Corinne: It is true that kids grow up in the blink of an eye, so I truly appreciate your need to scrapbook all their crazy moments. I love these photos! Great outfits, great colors, great family!!

May I borrow a cup of sugar? Because this little guy took all of mine. Loved this session! I’ve known Nikki since our college days (go UC Davis Bridge!) and I was so happy to do this family session for her and her family. Nikki is the sweetest, sweetest person and she married just the sweetest guy and, yup, they now have the sweetest kid! Yet another full circle for one of my dear friends and I’m just so happy she’s writing this next chapter in her life.

Alicia, Chloe, Christian + Lily / Rocking Out

Mission: to photograph three awesome kids in play with a few to include their photog mom. Mission accomplished, baby! Check out this recent session of Alicia of Alicia Cervenka Photography and her brood. As in another previous session, I had the honor again of being the family photographer for a fellow female photog. I know in the future I will have my own children and will forever be behind the camera, so I appreciate when a photographer takes the time to step in front of the lens. And it doesn’t hurt when the kids are this adorable.

Kory, Mark, Gianna, Danika + Natalia / Ladies in Red

Okay, I think I’m officially loving red with black for holiday photos. It really, really translates well to photographs. And when modeled by three adorable girls, makes quite a statement. There’s definitely something special about the holiday season and girls in their sweet dresses.

Awww!!!Seriously, cute, no? And each one had their own distinct personality. These two especially were my little helpers during their session.

Kim, Jun, Chance + Nathan / Three Guys and a Lady

I had the pleasure of spending a San Francisco afternoon with Kim and family and capturing these moments. Love when a session is at a location special to the family and getting a chance to connect that history.This brick wall is awesome. They made it awesomer.Her boys were crackerjacks! Props to mama for keeping up with them. :)Love the colors. Love this family!

Lateef the Truthspeaker / Hip Hop Class Act

This is the Lateef the Truthspeaker and his music is simply divine. He’s a Grammy-nominated artist known for his progressive hip hop style. You’re probably familiar with his work with FatBoy Slim by way of Palookaville. And if you saw this 2010 holiday commercial for Target, you’re hearing his voice in collaboration with Blackalicious on the track.

Erin, Justin + Taylor / Style and Sunshine

Introducing a very stylish little girl who I had the joy of photographing at a recent family session. I flipped over her black floral print dress and red sash. The colors stand out boldly and were just perfect for this family’s photo session. There really is something special about styling it on a sunny day.

Masayo, Shawn + Aleena Yuri / Emotional High

This little girl probably has one of the most expressive faces I’ve ever photographed. Every emotion shows right on her face and the photographer in me is happy for it. It can be hard at times to coax a “look” out of a subject, but this girl was generous with her feelings and I saw each one. Her expressions told her story and I was only too happy to explore.

Story time was always my favorite. Loved that I captured this moment with the family.Look at her! She makes you smile, no? Yuri’s blue dress was absolutely perfect. I love the boldness in color. Fantastic.Love these shots. These were my faves.

Masayo: Thank you very much for sharing your home and your family with me. You guys were a breeze to work with and I love how the photos turned out. Really, the dress Yuri wore was just perfect! I’m happy to know that one day she’ll look at these photos and be undoubtedly delighted with how she was. She’ll only have to look at her own face to know the story.

I am so happy to share another awesome session. Check out Trina and family in their violet threads! I am so loving the shades. When I think of violets, I think of sweetness and sincerity, an apt description for this family. Everything about this session was spot on. It was my complete joy to photograph such delightful people.
