I miss her. She’s lives in London which is way too far for me. Especially when I want to see one of her smiles.

It’s a quite joy of mine to see a family grow. I met Doris and Josh a few years back and remember thinking to myself how much they fit together. It’s that special something you can see from across the room, a couple who is meant to be. And when their family grows – in this case, with two beautiful girls – you know this family was meant to be. So it’s a pleasure of mine to share their session and share with you their joy in each other.

Dear Maria,
Such beautiful photos you taken for Evey Family.
Creative, fun, colorful, natural and awesome.
I wish to have my family taken, family of 5.
LOVE that jumping shot!
First, something I shared on Facebook. And, in turn, my friends handed my a** back to me. Here’s the post with the spot-on jokes. My friends are comedians.

Second, I have been seriously thinking about food a lot lately. Mostly, how I cannot cook a single dish. This is a running joke with my friends and they indulge me. I’ve even regularly said I should hand back my woman-card because I just don’t have it in me to cook a good dish. Which is the funniest thing ever because I enjoy shows like Top Chef and am fascinated with how ingredients are paired, but I fail miserably if you ask me to fry an egg.
Third, this needs to stop. Today I vow to learn how to make at least one dish a month and make it well. Well = I can actually serve it to friends. I think my fear is that I’m a very specific person and cooking should really be approached like any other art: passionately and fearlessly. My brother was a great cook. I depended on him so much to feed me something amazing that I knew he could easily whip up. So this need of mine to learn to cook – really learn – is just one of the next steps to me moving forward. Which may not seem like a big deal to most people, even laughable, but to me is something huge. And scary.
So I’ll chronicle my everything with food on this blog. My confusion, disasters, and (hopefully) successes. I’m not fearless right now. I’m nowhere near passionate. But I will be. Because my brother was.

The eggs that changed my life.

Sharing a really fun family portrait session of a really funny family. From Cole and the little caterpillar he found, to Sophie looking like a perfect mini-me of her mom, and Beckham toddling around – my camera enjoyed capturing it all.
